Loafing

It's an early fall  morning and this day is more reminiscent of late July humidity then of a day appropriate for the sweaters I just pulled out of storage, preparing for the seasons change.  The sun is trying to poke through the clouds, as if the day is tossing and turning deciding what it's going to be.
Thoreau said:

“If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen.”

Today I'm choosing to be a loafer.
